Erich Falkensteiner was born and raised as the first of two children in a small village in the Pustertal valley in South Tyrol. Already at a young age, he discovered his enthusiasm for the tourism and hospitality industry and so, after the untimely death of his father, he took over his parents' business 'Lido Ehrenburgerhof' at the age of 20, which is still run today as a successful and renowned hotel. 

Since then, Erich Falkensteiner has founded and successfully managed numerous companies. Among many companies, he is founder, president and co-owner of the FMTG Falkensteiner Michaeler Tourism Group, which comprises more than 30 Falkensteiner Hotels & Residences in 7 countries and more than 20 other companies. He is a talented man who acts and networks. Since 2018, when he founded Falkensteiner Ventures, he has passed on his experience in entrepreneurship to young entrepreneurs. With Falkensteiner Ventures he supports startups in the travel, F&B, hospitality and elderly care sectors, not only with investments but also with targeted know-how and networks. His enthusiasm for his work and the constant creation of new innovations drive him forward, and so the creativity to realise new projects is far from exhausted in his eyes.
